Vintage glass provides a glimpse into history and details daily life in a bygone era. The glassware designs of those times were the subject of conversations during social events of the times. Certain patterns became collectables because of associated memories and also their beauty. I hope to present these vintage designs in ways that will inspire sentiments of historic times, stories of glass art and elegance of the present... as these pieces come full circle, creating personal meaning and so, are cherished once again.
One of my favorite words is 'recognize' as it is applied to seeing the unseen and envisioning the creation of jewelry as art. I love the idea of resourcefulness... and in my glasswork, this would be rediscovering vintage designs applied to glass and presenting these designs as future heirlooms. Though this glass is undeniably unique with historical character, in addition, as jewelry, the manner in which light passes over and through the glass is captivating… daytime jewels love sunlight! The clear, transparency is a versatile quality, as we express our moods through our jewels and art pieces. Glass jewelry can be casual yet elegant for any occasion.
